One of Tuscany’s longest-running community celebrations returns to Macchia Antonini. Held since 1827 in accordance with Pellegrino Antonini’s bequest, the free festival combines tradition, music, food and outdoor life in the historic woodland estate.
The programme opens with Mass at 11:00 in the Chapel of San Pellegrino. From 16:00, visitors can enjoy the traditional summer watermelon gathering and music by the municipal band, followed by a second Mass at 17:00. A Sunday market, food stalls, historic photographs of the festival and the exhibition Omaggio al lupo will be available throughout the day. The event will be cancelled in bad weather.
